Beginning in the 1990's, Dan Falk began offering investment advice to his accounting clients as an extension of his accounting firm, which was then known as Daniel G. Falk & Associates.  In 2002 Dan added Sean Falk to the practice as a dedicated investment advisor, as well as to offer insurance and benefits options to clients.

Al DeLeon and Rich Stang have offered investment advice as the trusted advisor to their own accounting clients as well for nearly 30 years. In 2005 they added Brett Friedman to the staff with the intent of creating a separate investment advisory business.

In 2009 both companies merged their investment advisory businesses and formed Peak Investment Advisors, Inc.

In 2017 Sean and Brett became majority owners of the company.

Peak Investment Advisors, Inc. is based in Gaithersburg, MD and serves clients in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area. We welcome the opportunity to work with individuals and businesses throughout the United States.

Sean Falk is President and a Investment Advisor Representative at Peak Investment Advisors.  Sean is also the owner and licensed insurance agent through Peak Insurance & Benefit Services, LLC.  Throughout his career, he has worked with both individual investors and organizations, helping them plan for their unique financial goals.

Sean has always enjoyed the relationships that go along with working in a small money management firm where he can focus on the needs and objectives of each individual client. He looks at financial markets critically, and believes in a top down investment approach where demographic, societal, and economic trends are key factors in portfolio management.  Sean finds it very gratifying to work with clients to both educate them on their various options and help them navigate their choices.  Sean works with clients to formulate an overall plan that includes an analysis of a client’s complete financial picture.

Sean started his career in the insurance industry with John Hancock, and has now been providing insurance solutions to both businesses and individuals for many years. He is licensed to provide insurance services for Auto, Home, Life, Health, Long Term Care, Fixed Annuities, Business Insurance and Group Benefits through his insurance agency Peak Insurance & Benefit Services, LLC. He also spends time on accounting and tax services for both individuals and businesses through DeLeon & Stang.

Sean resides in Mount Airy with his wife, Brandi, and their two sons, Nick and Dylan. He is a true advocate for tools, believing that anything is possible with the right one. In his free time, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and playing golf.

Brett Friedman is an Investment Advisor Representative at Peak Investment Advisors and a part of the management team at DeLeon & Stang CPA’s. 

Brett began his career with one of the largest brokerage firms. After learning about the industry he began to question the numerous conflicts of interest between the company/advisor and the client that arise in an atmosphere at a large brokerage firm. In 2005 he made a move to the independent advisor side to not only get rid of the conflicts of interest but give him more flexibility to provide his fiduciary responsibility to offer the client the best investment options possible. As a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Brett is involved in assisting small businesses and individual clients with comprehensive planning solutions which integrate lifetime planning objectives.  His work includes asset allocation, investment management, advanced planning for retirement assets and stock options, estate planning, income tax planning and insurance planning.

Brett’s experience has taught him the importance of understanding each client’s unique goals.  His calm and clarity are a comfort to the clients he serves, as he helps them steer the course toward their financial security.

Brett is a licensed insurance agent in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Brett also provides accounting and advisory services for both businesses and individuals through DeLeon & Stang.

During his 25 plus years of experience, Rich has provided financial guidance for both individuals and businesses. Whether he is working with a family or corporation, however, Rich’s definition of success remains the same. He believes he has succeeded only when he has helped a client achieve their own definition of success.  

His understanding of the business side of an entrepreneur’s success make him an ideal advisor for business leaders who are transitioning their business legacy to retirement or working to preserve family assets. 

Rich enjoys working with clients to help them develop a financial plan and work toward their goals, and uses his accounting expertise to provide innovative tax planning alternatives to help his clients keep more of what they make and invest wisely.

Cheryle joined Peak Investment Advisors, Inc. in 2012 as an Investment Relations Specialist.  She is a Customer Service Specialist, having over 20 years experience in customer service, accounting, operational management and problem solving.  

Cheryle is best known for her excellent interpersonal skills, and she creates a positive rapport with customers to achieve customer service excellence. 

Cheryle enjoys assisting clients with their investment needs.  She is detail oriented, and has strong organizational and analytical skills that are key factors in achieving the high standards of excellence set by Peak Investment Advisors, Inc.

Cheryle is a native of Washington, D.C. and lives in Mount Airy, MD with her husband Rick.  Together they have two children and two grandchildren.  Cheryle enjoys travel, outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
